STRESS & THE BODY

Terms such as stress, fear, anxiety & panic will be unpacked
including some of the most common signs and/or symptoms that are often expressed
through thoughts, feelings and behaviours (including physiology).

WALL & DOOR EXCERCISE

this stress management exercise will help you identify
between “positive” and “negative” stress. The ability to distinguish
between both kinds of stress may lead to becoming an overcomer in terms of
managing stress.

THE MIND & ME

Perspective is everything! Therefore, we will be
discussing a few thought patterns that often put us at risk of becoming more
anxious and how to avoid or confront them.

REFLECTIONS & REVIEWS

We will recap on the previous
lessons and combining the in terms of how each course has empowered the learner-
participant. Reflections will be drawn, including insights for possible topics to benefit
from in the future.

Siyabonga Ntshangase is a Counselling Psychologist registered with the HPCSA. He currently works at UJ as a psychologist, providing counselling services to students and the broader population. A public speaker and mental health activist, Siyabonga has a keen interest in the provision of mental health services in post-apartheid South Africa.
